Sovex Awarded DHL Contract!
DHL, the global market leader in international express, overland transport and air freight, has contracted specialist conveyor manufacturer Sovex to maintain its conveying equipment in the UK. Under the agreement, Sovex will carry out regular service checks and provide 24-hour call-out support to approximately 130 DHL parcel depots and distribution hubs.
Steve Nuttall, Sovex’s new Sales Director, is delighted; “The DHL maintenance contract is great news and represents a substantial investment in our company. We are expanding our servicing department as the contract commences in November and employing additional engineers to meet the growing workload. I am looking forward to a successful working relationship with DHL.”
Experienced engineers from Sovex will visit DHL sites regularly to inspect, test and maintain conveying equipment. This includes identifying and replacing wearing parts, lubricating the chains and mechanisms, and resetting or adjusting components as necessary. This high level of service will extend the machines’ service life and ensure they perform efficiently.
The 24-hour call-out support DHL will receive is second to none. Sovex has engineers, who carry a comprehensive range of components and spare parts, stationed all over the UK. This means one can always reach a site quickly, ensuring conveyors are fixed and back in operation as soon as possible.
Parcel handling companies like DHL keep their distribution centres open round the clock to maximise productivity, which subjects conveying equipment to a rigorous workload. Proper maintenance is essential to keep the machines safe and in good working order. In addition to conveyors, Sovex services a range of other materials handling equipment, including dock levelers, scissor lifts and control systems.
