Sovex Appointments to Deliver Quality Service
Leading conveyor manufacturer Sovex has appointed two experts to handle its new DHL maintenance contract. Ian Jarvis and Steve Stanbridge join the company as Engineering Managers and both have over twenty years experience in the parcel handling industry. They will assist the DHL servicing department in the smooth running of over 130 UK depots.
Having worked together on past jobs, Steve and Ian have an excellent relationship, which will stand them in good stead at Sovex. Each will be responsible for DHL depots in a designated area of the country. Duties include directing Sovex engineers to provide 24-hour callout support, scheduling regular service visits to keep conveying equipment functioning efficiently, liasing with DHL staff, and dealing with problems if they occur.
Steve spent thirty years at his previous company (a major Sovex competitor), where he was responsible for the installation and servicing of telescopic boom conveyors and other loading bay equipment. Steve is relishing the challenges of his new role at Sovex; “Thirty years is a long time to spend at one company I wanted a change of scene. At Sovex, I get to spend a lot of time out on the road meeting customers, something I enjoy immensely. I completed my training apprenticeship at Sovex back in 1981, and I am excited to be back where it all began!”
Ian starts at Sovex in December and currently works as an Engineering Facilities Manager for a major parcel-handling firm. He has spent nineteen years in this position and is looking forward to his future with the Prenton based company; “Sovex has become the UK’s dominant telescopic boom conveyor supplier and I can’t wait to become a part of it. In my new role, I will help manage the DHL account a big responsibility but a challenge I will enjoy.”
Sovex is celebrating enormous growth this year, with a bulging order book and profits at an all time high. David Lindfield, Managing Director, welcomes Steve and Ian to the team; “I wish Steve and Ian every success in their new roles. They join a hardworking, rapidly growing company, and I looking forward to a prosperous future.”
